The Beginning

I'd like to start off this blog about my adventures by telling you exactly where I am: the InnovationSpace. Yes, it's a Friday night, 10:30. Yes, I have an exam tomorrow. Yes, I feel extremely lame. And actually yes, I should be studying Renaissance art history (I love Michelangelo more than I can even begin to tell you). But it's all in the adventure right? Plus, it's been quite the day. Worked for 8 hours, dinner with my little (the most delicious garlic shrimp tacos), happy hour with my friends, ran into a friend with a car, bopped back to the IS to do a little cramming. Never a dull moment. Not even now, as I text no less than 5 people about the Nats game (17-9 baby!) and text in detail about one of my coworker's weird relationship with this girl who just comes into work and stares at him. She hasn't blinked in weeks, I swear.

This is the beginning of something semi-big. At least for me. Ever since I worked at Sandy Hill Camp in the summer of 2008, I've been stalking following some of the older counselor's blogs as well as some of the older kids from my high school, and have been jealous/inspired/in awe of them ever since. They're all so...so....free and wild and hardworking and dedicating and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM HIKES EVERY WEEKEND! How? They're also always refurbishing furniture and crafting epic headboards and NEVER seem to spend more than 4 minutes a day on Facebook! That's just unnatural...

It is finally time. I'm 22. About to be a 5th year in college. I'm in desperate need of getting a grip on life and getting around to doing things that will make me happy and fulfilled. Sure, I like to drink and party with friends and generally get into mischief with my friends, but it's time I take a look at where my money is currently going, and where it COULD be going.

Perhaps I should start by studying. Alright. I will. Good night and hello Michelangelo!
